A mother always wants what's the best for her family. she is a strong woman who accepts struggle and hardships in order to provide a better life for her family. And that's what my mother is.
My Mom, who is a English Literature Teacher by profession imparted to us lessons more through her actions than through words - her love for books (especially Mythology). she has innate optimism and positive attitude despite life's vicissitudes. Her discipline and healthy lifestyle of simple foods, and early sleep which are still my shortcomings. And hail her total devotion to our family. The only thing that Mom doesn't know is to cook. She is a horrible cook! It is always my father who does the cooking.
Many people would say I am obviously my Mom's daughter, because we are both reasonable and I am my Mom's "carbon copy" as they would say it. We argue sometimes, but i think it's just normal.
She would raid my closet and gets mad at me for keeping very old clothes even for "trapo" (rags). My clothes will just disappear and the next thing I know, she already gave them to the less fortunate people in the neighborhood. but it also takes time for her to dispose her own stuffs. He he he. when she's at home, she would just watch TV, read books and play scrabble for entertainment. I am sometimes amused by my Mom's simplicity and can't imagine up to now, how she prepared many challenges that had come her way.
But wait, there's more! Hahaha!
She's a text addict too and she has loads of cool mp3s in her cellphone. Hah, you think my Mom's old-fashioned? Nah-ah. She likes singing to Ne-Yo's songs. One time, I was in awe when I heard her sang "Sexy Love"! Hahaha. Oh, she's also a big fan of the Spice Girls and Destiny's Child. So hip, he he he.
I love my Mom. She's my friend..my motivator..my teacher...she is everything to me. One of these days, I will go shopping with her, or even shop for her. unfortunately i haven't got her something in this special day. but i soon will. :)
But beyond flowers, gifts, greeting cards or restaurant dinners, I believe one of the best ways for us to truly honor our mothers is to heed their lessons and to make the most of our lives.
US President Abraham Lincoln once said, "Everything I am or even hope to be, I owe to my angel mother".
To all the moms reading this post, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
