A Recap of My December 2011

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

I am one of the many people who have encountered the best of 2011. I am so blessed with so many things, and I thank God for that.

December has been a hectic month. The first two weeks was all about work and then Christmas break. Lots of gatherings and preparations for the holidays. So let me give you a recap of my December.

Dec. 16, 2011 - Attended Rey & Sarah wedding at St. Joseph the Worker Church.
Sarah was my office mate before - she's a good friend and I wouldn't want to miss her big day. Here's a photo of us together with some of our friends.

It was also a great time to bond with my gal pal Tonette and Russell.

Dec. 17, 2011 - Attended my inaanak's (godchild) 2nd birthday; reunited with my guy friends as well.

Dec. 18, 2011 - Christmas dinner with my batch mates (2010) from the University of San Agustin. Just a small dinner buffet at Steps of Rome and did the exchange of gifts.

Mango shake with whip cream tastes so good!

Got this cuddly plush animal from Lyn.

Dec. 19, 2011 - Went to Maravilla Elementary School in Pototan, Iloilo for their Christmas Party. The school is one of the beneficiaries of Give Children Hope Foundation. The Feeding Program is one of the main projects of GCH - providing nutritious and healthy meals to children that will sustain them all throughout the day. I just monitor the finances, what they need and make a report for the sponsors. Know more about Give Children Hope by visiting this site: http://givechildrenhope.blogspot.com/

Dec. 23, 2011 - Christmas dinner at Hec's residence.

Dec. 25, 2011 - Christmas Day! Lunch at Hec's residence with his family. His sister's hubby cooked lunch for us. The food was delish! Hope I could grab some pics from his sister whenever she upload them. These are the only photos I took:

Then went to SM City for coffee and bought some stuff.

It's also my mom's 63rd birthday. We just had a little dinner at home.

Dec. 27, 2011 - Lunch with Hec and family at Steps of Rome. No pictures of us, but I took a few photos of the food. LOL!

 Parmesan Crusted Fish Fillet

 Steak Florentine

 Mashed Potato

Dessert at Maridel's, Plazuela.

To-die-for Frozen Mango Brazo with real mango bits and mango flavoured ice cream.
Check out my Foodspotting photos.

And in the evening, went to MO2, Smallville, with Hec and Thomas.

Hec went back to Pampanga on Dec. 28. I was a sad, and so was he. He always wanted to spend the New Year with his family though.

Dec. 29, 2011 - Catch up time with Kristiane. She just came back home from Manila. Glad we had a time to bond before the year ends.

Coffee time at Amular Photography Studio + Cafe

 Plazuela

Bumped into Glaiza at SM City.

So, that's a recap hehehe. Christmas was lovelier than expected. ;)

I wish everyone a Happy New Year! Hope you all have a fantastic 2012! Cheers!

Farewell 2010, Hello 2011!

Wow the whole 2010 has gone by real quick!

2010 is coming to a close. it has been a time. It has, without a doubt been a year of remarkable ups and downs. For the things that I went trhough, I could say that I didn't work hard on it, I just let it happen, because whenever I tried to.. it has become more difficult. My life has just shift its outlook. I had focused on the positive and doing one little thing around me, for my family, relationship and myself every day. It's just a matter of having good energy out, and good energy in. In some ways or another, I think I have developed a self-fulfilling prophecies, and focused on the positive rather than the negative which I had hoped to change those and have set in place for my self without even realizing it.

I have a lot of things to be thankful for, and since they are too many.. I will just make it short.
  • I have graduated with my Marketing course after almost 9 years of quitting school.
  • my ever supportive family
  • The never-ending love and patience of my boyfriend
  • a job that I love.
  • fulfilled some of my goals.
  • friends who stay no matter what
  • and gained new friends who I clicked with almost immediately.
Speaking of friends, I have lost some... but gained more. So I guess in 2011, I should be careful on who I should be friends with. Avoid people who would just take advantage of your kindness and then leave you hanging when you need them.

So, I guess this would be my last post for the year. 2010 has been momentous, productve, insane, intense, and relentless. There were horrible things happened in between but I'm glad I have gone through that. However, I still have some other things to look forward to year 2011.

So what are your resolutions for 2011? I honestly don't have any for the new year. I just try to do the same thing every year, and that's to:
  • stay healthy-ish (hehehe)
  • sorround myself with good/bad people (I'll say just to put a little contrast, tee-hee!)
  • good times, laugh, live, love.
Those are my ingredients for a fulfilled life and all that jazz. Hope you all do the same. HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!

Christmas 2010

Caution: Long post ahead.

I have been in a Christmas mood since the first day of December. Since then, I started getting gifts for my family and friends. I even bought presents for the last minute yesterday because I forgot to buy two of my godchildren their presents. I could say that Christmas shopping was getting to the best of me, though this Christmas rush makes me cracky. But I am not complaining.

The holidays really mean a lot to me and my family, though I see some people who think that the holidays mean "a lot of things" to them. They are kind of like superficial about the whole Christmas deal. BUT of course, there are also those who really feel it and get it from the heart.

So anyways, back to my Christmas; I have been excited about it since last month knowing that the bf is coming home. There were changes of plans and schedules of his homecoming due to some uncontrollable circumstances, but good thing he went home for Christmas.

December 23rd

So, bf arrived in Iloilo from Pampanga at 8:55pm. I fetched him at the Airport and went straight to their house for dinner. It was actually a celebration of his birthday, his homecoming and friends' Christmas party. His close friends were already there waiting for his arrival, and his mom welcomed us with warm hugs and kisses. we put our stuff inside first and went out to his friends. We had fun talking since his (some) friends are already my friends back then. Bf's mom then lead the prayer to start off dinner. After eating, we did the exchanged of gifts (per family, Hec and I was counted as one) - we got an electric kettle! And he gave it to me 'cause he knew I need it more than he does since I drink a lot of coffee. After the exchanged gifts, they (friends) opened up boozes, pulled out a case of beer, wines and rhum. As much as I wanted to drink, bf warned me not to. LOL! He told me that since the girls of his friends are not drinking, I should not drink too. LOL! How unfair was that? Anyways, I did not complain since I got myself busy talking with the girls...Caren, Val, and Vema. Then as the conversation went deep down to being future moms (Caren and Val are both one month preggers) Vema and I went like "We cannot relate" in a joking manner. Then later we sat by the boys' table and I couldn't help it but drank some wine and rhum. Eventually the girls joined in as well for a fun talk. It was already 2am (24th) when they left. I had to stay at bf's house for a sleepover.

Here are the photos on Dec. 23:

December 24

Hec woke me up around 8 am for breakfast, but I could hardly open up my eyes and lazy to get up as I was still sleepy, but I had too. So, Hec, his mom, his sister (btw, we were grade school classmates in Assumption), and his brother sat and talk over breakfast. So right there and then, his mom asked us about our plans, if I could stay in Pampanga maybe for good. Well, we replied that we will have to talk about it, but try not to be compulsive with planning. We assured her and ourselves as well that we will do it one at a time. So, after lunch, went to the mall for a little stroll, and went on our separate ways around the mall since each one of us has something to buy, while Hec was about to see his kids, who happened to be at the mall that day as well. Then the five of us met up at Yellow Cab for lunch.

While we were eating, his sister was complaning of the rashes all over her arms, neck and parts of her face. Then her mom said to have it checked to the nearest doc/clinic. I suggested that we could have it check at Iloilo Doctor's clinic at the ground level of the mall, and see if my cousin was there. Unfortunately, there were no doctors available that day. So we decided to head off St. Paul's Hospital for the check up. We stayed there for like 2 hours waiting for the result, but I had to go home since I have to help prepare stuff at home for mom's surprise birthday celeb on Christmas day. It has been 4pm already when bf texted that they are still the hospital waiting for the results. It was past 5pm when he said that the results came in and it was dengue. But he said his sister wanted to take a second test the next day. After the second test, it was still the same result so, they admitted her to the hospital right away.

December 25

My siblings and I prepared a surprise party for my mom on her Christmas birthday. So after we came back home from church for the 11pm (December 24 mass) and ended at 12 midnight (December 25), we went home straight and took out everything for our surprise. We had to wake up our mom just to surprise her. She really really had no idea we prepared for this. She has not seen any food, and some stuff days before her birthday because my siblings and I were good at hiding them. We put the food and cake in our refrigerator and labeled them as our neighbors' food. My mom is already 61 years old, and she was happily surprised that day. The celebration continued the whole day at home, but I had to leave the house before lunch time to meet some of my friends and godchildren for their presents.

After meeting my friends, Hec and I met up.. just right after he met with his kids, then we went to the hospital to visit her sister who was admitted for possible dengue. I stayed there for a while and had a chit chat with his mom as well. But I had to leave before 8pm since there was still an ongoing party for mom.

December 26

Hec is going back to Pampanga, unfortunately, he had to go back to work. The holidays is over. :( sad. So later in the afternoon, I have to go with bringing him to the airport. We always wished that he could extend his vacay until New Year but the company is not allowing him. But that is ok because I will be visiting him next year.

That was my holidays so far. for the upcoming days, there are events and family Christmas Party (mom's side) that i will be attending to. And so 'tis the season to gain weight! LOL! Christmas 2010 has been awesome to have celebrated it family, bf, and friends. Sadly, it has to come to an end. aww :(

But I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays as much as I did!

Counting the days until Christmas

11 days until my bf is coming home (and my brother's birthday) and 13 days until Christmas, it's also my mom's birthday. Can't wait! So this time in two weeks I will be enjoying my massive holidays!

I remember last year when I was kind of being a Grinch that I felt bad because I was short of budget since I went back to college, so I spent a budgeted money for presents for my family last year. School was sucking my money out of my pocket. Papers and tuition fees were massive.

So this time, I have prepared something for the holidays. I hope my family and friends would be enjoy Christmas and what I have to share with them. Same goes to my boyfriend.

Hello 2010

2009 had been treating me well... it was a great one for me and my bf, though we're far away. I can say that the year 2009 also gave me some slow moments, but mostly high moments which had made my year so awesome. If you are a follower of this blog, then you'd know how my year was. ;)

I have a lot of New Year's resolution, but I won't sort it all out because I might jinx it if ever I blog about it hehehe. I am also happy to report that I am still happily in love and doing fantastic. I met a lot of people in 2009, made a lot of new friends and did a little traveling. Everything was just fantastic.

Life is good! And I know 2010 is still going to be my year. I know it will be. I can see it coming good.

The clock has just struck 12... HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

I'm going out now and watch the fireworks, take photos and binge eat. :D

Christmas Day 2009

I had a wonderful Christmas! We celebrated two birthdays - My Mom, and Jesus. I also spent the day with my family, relatives, my bf and a few friends. I won't be too detailed about what had transpired on that day, however, i will just show you some pictures!

Morning: Mom decided to prepare brunch for the street kids in our area. We occupied a small area at the back of our house for them. Only a few kids went to our house because some would rather ask alms at outside the nearest mall near our house than eat here for free.

The birthday girl - my mom, brought cake for the children.

Right after the kids left, we called in the neighbors to have lunch with us, and gave presents to their kids as well.

In the afternoon, my bf Hectril called in to meet up with him and his sister. We daddle around the mall, had coffee and enjoyed the chit chat.

A cute present from Lette

After coffee, bf decided to get a hair cut and shave. It was a good call because I really wanted him to have a clean hair cut.. and must be clean shaven as well. After that, they dropped me off the house in the evening because we had a family Christmas Party at home, and a celebration of mom's birthday as well. I will just post the photos next time as soon as I have transferred them from the memory card to pc. Hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas too!

Excited For The Holiday Shopping

I am pretty much excited for Christmas now. I must have all of my Christmas shopping done next week. I will also have to look for a wedding gift for our friends who will tie the knot on December 28, 2009. I think I will also get a few more little things for a few people; big stuff is out of the way. I won't do a grand shopping since I'm on a tight budget because I'm just a student, unlike for the past few years that I was still employed.. tehe! Anyhow, I am still happy whether I give little or big presents. I hope they'd be happy for what they will be getting from me.

I love getting stuff for my bf all year, of course not to spoil him rotten. Oh I'm excited for my little holiday shopping, and I just want to go shopping alone. :D

Long Rest From School

I just got home, a bit tired and sore. Menstrual cramps, pelvic pain and a headache. But I will feel better right after taking my meds. Glad that I'm home and and finally can rest from a stressful day in school.

Well, starting tomorrow, until Monday next week... I don't have classes.

August 26, Wednesday - Faculty meeting at 9am-3:30 PM.
August 27-28 Thursday and Friday - Patron Saint's Day.
August 31 - Holiday; National Heroes Day

So, I am gonna have a long rest from school, that's like 6 days of not having classes. I think I'm going to be busy with my marketing plan and do some Photoshop-ing at home. =D

And I will leave you with these photos taken today in school:

Happy Easter 2009

Happy Easter! Hey, you know what.. I have noticed that Easter is the same as Christmas - commercialized holidays that once held religious. The only difference is that bunnies are cuter than Santa. :p

So how did you spend your holidays? For me, holidays only suck when you have to wake up early in the morning and go to work. But not that bad though, I still get paid double. :p

I never get enough sleep for the past few weeks.. the internet is really an evil thing. hehehe.

On another note: I have a date with my Easter Bunny tomorrow. :p
